Installation reported that Sonos has equipped Mews House, a boutique hospitality venue on Zurich’s Paradeplatz, with a zoned audio system that spans guest suites, a restaurant, bar, retail space and a rooftop terrace inside a restored 17th‑century building.
The venue required a single audio ecosystem that could preserve privacy in individual rooms while linking to the existing KNX system for lighting, climate and concierge services, all of which are accessible through in‑room iPads, according to the source.
Speakers were placed throughout the property, including 15 pairs of Sonos Era 100 Pro speakers and five Sonos Arc Ultra soundbars in guest rooms, two outdoor speakers from Sonos and Sonance for exterior areas, and Sonos Amp units that serve as the system’s backbone. The setup creates separate zones for the indoor and outdoor bar, restaurant, retail area and each guest room, with control primarily via iPads and mobile devices.
Partner SAT Multimedia performed the installation, while added‑value distributor Stilus handled concept design, planning and commissioning. Venue staff can now tailor playlists for different settings, such as refined music in the restaurant and relaxed tones on the rooftop, while grouped zones maintain consistent audio where needed.
