ADAM Audio has announced the Sub8 PRO and Sub10 PRO, two DSP-powered subwoofers designed for studio monitoring, along with ADAM Control, the company’s new software-based management and calibration platform.
The new models use 8-inch and 10-inch woofers with fiber-reinforced paper cones, elasticated rubber surrounds, Class D amplification and onboard DSP. ADAM Audio says the port designs were optimized using finite element analysis to reduce turbulence while supporting high output and controlled low-frequency performance.
Both subwoofers can be configured over Ethernet using ADAM Control, the successor to A Control. The free software provides adjustment of equalization, gain, phase and delay across stereo and multichannel systems built around Sub PRO and A Series products. It also supports importing advanced correction filters created with Sonarworks SoundID Reference.
Connectivity includes analog XLR/TRS combination inputs and outputs, along with AES3 digital audio at up to 24-bit/96kHz. LFE and Wide operating modes are intended to support both production and multichannel monitoring applications.
The Sub8 PRO is specified for a 26Hz–300Hz frequency range and maximum peak SPL of 105dB, while the Sub10 PRO is specified for 21Hz–300Hz and 106dB. U.S. MAP pricing is $1,199.99 for the Sub8 PRO and $1,499.99 for the Sub10 PRO.
