Allen & Heath has released Qu V1.2, a feature update for current-generation Qu digital mixers that adds expanded Dante networking, desktop mixing control and workflow tools aimed at live sound, AV, installation and broadcast users.
LSi Online reported that the headlining feature is an optional Dante 32×32 Upgrade available for all Dante-enabled Qu mixers. The purchasable add-on increases Dante channel capacity from 16×16 to 32×32, supporting larger audio networks and improved integration with external equipment.
The firmware introduces Qu-MixPad for Windows and macOS, letting engineers and installers control mixers from a computer. Offline Mode across all MixPad platforms allows show preparation and editing without mixer access.
Additional features include an Expander option on input channels for smoother noise reduction on speech, vocals and drums; Listen Bus for routing PAFL audio to a dedicated output with independent level control; and DCA Spill, which displays all channels assigned to a DCA across fader strips in a single action.
Qu V1.2 is available as a free firmware update for all current-generation Qu mixers. The Dante 32×32 Upgrade is sold separately for Qu-5D, Qu-6D and Qu-7D models.
