Arturia has released Pigments Play, a free condensed version of its flagship Pigments soft synth, MusicTech reported. The instrument ships with over 100 presets spanning keys, pads, basses and leads across genres including modern pop, R&B, garage, house, drum and bass, trap and ambient.
MusicTech reports that each preset carries four macro parameters with a visual aid showing how adjustments affect sound output. A built-in sound store offers more than 200 additional presets for purchase, with new items added regularly.
The software supports modal, granular, wavetable, sample, harmonic and virtual analog synthesis, plus over 50 filter modes and 20 effects, MusicTech notes. Pigments Play can operate with or without a DAW, making it suitable for newer or more experienced artists who want to start creating immediately or expand a current workflow.
According to MusicTech, Pigments Play integrates with Arturia’s controller hardware lineup, including MiniLab, KeyLab and KeyStep. The download is available now at no cost from Arturia.
