Baby Audio has released HyperWarp, a $49 granular effect plugin that lets users draw time-manipulation curves to transform loops, stems and full mixes into stuttering, half-time and tape-stop textures.
According to We Rave You, HyperWarp breaks audio into tiny grains and rebuilds it along a user-drawn shape, with per-grain controls for pitch, resolution, randomness and feedback. The plugin ships with more than 190 presets, preset graph shapes, smart randomization and seven effect profiles ranging from clean time edits to extreme lo-fi, each with four macro knobs.
The manufacturer, known for I Heart NY, TAIP and the Grainferno granular synth, prices HyperWarp at an introductory $49 through Black Friday, with a $99 MSRP afterward. That undercuts most granular plugins on the market, including Output’s Portal, which launched at $149 in 2019, the publication notes.
HyperWarp is available in VST, VST3, AU and AAX formats for macOS 10.13 and later, including Apple Silicon, and Windows 10 and later. A free trial is offered on Baby Audio’s website. The company states the plugin was built by human engineers and designers without AI assistance.
