Buchla has adjusted its release schedule for the Ziggy synthesizer, moving the expected shipping date from the fall to December 2026. The company shared this update on its official website, noting that while the instrument remains in production, the new timeline reflects additional refinement work. The compact analog desktop instrument features a complex oscillator, low-pass gate, and flexible digital modulation system, offering wavefolding, FM, and AM capabilities.
A prototype was demonstrated at Superbooth in May, where it performed well and met the original design vision. The team gathered public feedback and internal notes, leading to improvements in signal-to-noise ratio, build quality, and user experience. During the summer, the circuit was reworked to enhance sound quality and manufacturing ease. Custom parts were selected to improve tactile response, and USB audio, MIDI, and power were consolidated into a single USB-C connection.
