Celemony has updated its Tonalic plugin with a new content pack featuring upright bassist Paul Kleber, expanding the product’s bowed and plucked bass options for digital audio workstations. According to MusicTech, the Berlin-based musician recorded the performances at LowSing Studio, bringing expertise in jazz, pop, funk and electronic styles to the platform known for converting legendary player performances into creative tools.
MusicTech reports that this addition significantly broadens the software’s bowed upright bass capabilities, which previously offered only a single option. Producer Ryan Harlin told the publication that Kleber’s distinct tone on plucked upright bass further enhances the value of this expansion. The update joins a roster of over 30 musicians within the program, who have collectively contributed more than 7,000 performances since the product launched earlier this year.
Regarding distribution, MusicTech notes that while Tonalic typically operates on monthly or annual subscription models, this specific release introduces an option for music dealers to sell prepaid licenses without subscription commitments. To promote the new drop, the company is offering a discounted introductory rate for the first month. This move provides retail partners with a tangible product to offer customers seeking permanent access to these specific grooves.
