Eastwood has teamed up with Mark Sandman's estate to roll out a new Sandman Deluxe four‑string bass that continues the homage to the original Premier design, according to reporting by No Treble.
The instrument keeps the 34‑inch scale and the classic scroll‑body shape, featuring an inlaid scroll and a streaked ebony veneer top that replicate the visual cues and deep, resonant tone of the two‑string version while offering the broader range of a standard four‑string bass.
Construction includes a mahogany body, a maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard marked with white double‑dot inlays. It is equipped with a pair of custom D‑Style pickups arranged with dual volume knobs and a tone control, plus an F‑style bridge, vintage‑style tuners, and a satin finish for a refined look.
A demo by Michael Weber showcases the bass in action, and the model is listed for $1,399 and ready for purchase now.
