Gretsch has expanded its premium electric guitar lineup with the release of the G6134T-58 Limited Edition Penguin, a model distinguished by its string-through Bigsby B3CP tailpiece. According to Australian Musician, this new instrument is designed to offer enhanced sustain and easier maintenance for professional players across various musical genres.

The publication reports that the guitar features a chambered mahogany body topped with arched maple, finished exclusively in Light Blue Pearl. It is equipped with TV Jones Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity Filter’Tron pickups, which Australian Musician notes provide a tighter bass response and open, three-dimensional sound compared to modern alternatives. The design also includes a mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard with Luminlay side dots, and Grover Imperial tuners.

This limited run includes a deluxe hardshell case and targets the high-end retail market. The string-through bridge design eliminates the need for string pins, facilitating faster changes while improving vibration transfer. Retailers stocking this model will offer a distinct variation on the classic Penguin aesthetic, combining vintage chambering techniques with modern playability features to appeal to collectors and performing musicians globally.
