Halter Technical has introduced WildTrax 2027, the latest version of its recording engine targeting production sound, broadcast, live events, podcasts, studios and other multitrack recording applications, according to ProSoundWeb.
Announced during the company’s Connected To You keynote, the update centers on connectivity and workspace customization. OSC support enables external devices and applications on a network to communicate with the recorder, providing real-time control and feedback. The release also adds a dedicated Stream Deck plug-in, Bitfocus Companion integration and HTTP control, while remote operation remains available through the WildTrax A2 app for iPhone and iPad.
A new Themes system lets users select included themes or create and share custom themes using the Theme Editor. A redesigned Tracks Panel provides drag-and-drop reordering, pinned tracks, adjustable row sizes, list and grid layouts, track images and emoji, and expanded meter options. Panel Tabs allow multiple panels to share workspace areas, with layouts saved with projects.
Additional features include Scene Snapshots, an updated Library with SD card formatting, a new Player with independent output routing, PDF Sound Reports with custom logos, and an expanded Toolkit with LTC Generator, Signal Generator and Clip & Peak Detector utilities. Other additions include a Project Manager, Dante channel names, Virtual I/O, Guest Mode and Python scripting.
The WildTrax 2027 Public Beta is available to current WildTrax customers. The full release is scheduled for November 6, 2026. Existing subscription and licensing options remain available, and the WildTrax A2 app remains free.
