IK Multimedia has introduced ARC Studio+, a hardware room correction processor that adds computer-free calibration, automatic subwoofer integration, and digital audio connectivity to its monitoring platform, according to audioXpress. The new unit combines onboard DSP with ARC X measurement software, three front-panel scene memories, and balanced analog connections, extending the company’s acoustic correction technology to stereo and 2.1 systems using any brand of monitors.
The processor builds on the original ARC Studio, which remains in the lineup as a lower-cost option. A dedicated ARC MIC input allows users to run one-point or three-point calibration directly from the front panel without an external audio interface or computer. The included ARC X software supports seven-point and 21-point measurements for more detailed spatial analysis, with profiles remaining active in the processor after the software is closed.
Subwoofer integration represents a substantial extension, with a dedicated output that automatically detects and aligns gain, crossover, phase, and delay between the subwoofer and main speakers. IK Multimedia identifies this functionality as drawing on technology developed for its iLoud Sub. Connectivity includes balanced XLR/TRS inputs and XLR monitor outputs, USB-C digital audio input, and optical S/PDIF input and output, allowing digital-input monitors or external DACs to avoid additional A/D and D/A stages.
ARC Studio+ is shipping with an introductory price of $399.99, rising to $449.99, including the processor, ARC X software, power supply, and measurement microphone. Packages without the microphone are offered to eligible ARC microphone owners for $349.99, and to existing ARC Studio owners for $299.99, according to audioXpress.
