IK Multimedia has released TONEX 2 Player version 2.1, the official release following its public beta, alongside TONEX Board firmware 1.1.0, according to Music Instrument News. The software update lets users build complete TONEX Board rigs directly on Mac and PC, share them through ToneNET, and transfer the identical rig to TONEX Board hardware for recording, rehearsal and live use.

Music Instrument News reports that version 2.1 introduces TONEX Rig, an optional paid add-on powered by the TONEX Board Engine. It supports a 12-block signal chain, dual paths, Split and Mix routing, stereo operation and up to four Tone Models per preset. The add-on ships with 76 studio-quality effects drawn from the AmpliTube collection, with additional effects planned starting as early as late October at no extra cost to TONEX Rig owners.

TONEX 2 Player 2.1 remains a free update for all TONEX users. TONEX Rig is included for registered TONEX Board owners and costs $/€99.99 for eligible paid TONEX users or $/€149.99 for TONEX CS users, tax excluded, Music Instrument News reports.

Firmware 1.1.0 adds USB audio with four inputs and two outputs plus USB MIDI support, along with performance and workflow improvements. Both updates are available now through IK Product Manager.
