Kardinal Guitars has introduced the Kardinal Bass, a four-string electric bass priced at $549 during a pre-order window running through November 20, 2026, Premier Guitar reported.
The manufacturer built the instrument with a neck-through mahogany body design and a quilted maple top. The rosewood fretboard carries a 12-inch radius and stainless steel frets, the publication reports.
Premier Guitar says a pair of custom-wound dual-coil soapbar pickups loaded with Alnico V magnets anchor the electronics, delivering warmer tone and greater dynamic sensitivity than ceramic alternatives. The passive bass uses full-size pots in a volume, tone and blend configuration.
The product launches in three colors: Cardinal Red, Sapphire Blue and Midnight Black. Distribution is exclusive to kardinalguitars.com, where pre-orders are open now through November 20, 2026.
The instrument is designed to offer professional-grade tone at a very accessible price. The spec sheet punches well above the pre-order cost, according to the publication. The passive bass responds to how hard the player digs in, cleans up when backing off, and sits in a mix without fighting for space, Premier Guitar reported.
