Keeley Electronics has launched the Compressor Plus Germanium pedal, the newest addition to its compressor line, carrying a street price of $189.
According to Premier Guitar, the pedal centers on a germanium transistor incorporated into both the audio output section and the compressor’s side-chain feedback, bringing a new character and response to a design that has evolved over 25 years.
The pedal retains Level, Tone, Compression and Blend controls and adds a 2-position switch for adjusting recovery time between single-coil and humbucking pickups. The Single Coil setting provides slower recovery time, while the Humbucker setting delivers faster response.
Keeley manufactures the Compressor Plus Germanium from start to finish at its facility in Oklahoma City. The pedal includes selectable true-bypass or Keeley silent buffered switching and rugged construction.
The release coincides with Keeley Electronics celebrating 25 years of building pedals. The company began in 2001 with Robert Keeley and a compressor pedal, and by the time the Compressor Plus arrived in 2017, Keeley had built more than 50,000 compressors.
The Compressor Plus Germanium is designed and manufactured in Oklahoma, USA, honoring the company’s origins while carrying the Keeley Compressor forward for a new generation of players.
