Bulgarian artist Grafa recently performed a 360-degree concert at Arena 8888 Sofia, a venue accommodating 15,000 attendees. Installation International reports that the production utilized KLANG:technologies’ DMI-KLANG in conjunction with a DiGiCo mixing console to deliver spatialized in-ear monitor mixes to the ten musicians on stage.
According to Installation International, each member of the band operated a KLANG:kontroller directly on stage, enabling personalized control over their monitor mixes. The concert’s stage design spanned 40 meters, and the audience was positioned in a complete 360-degree configuration.
The deployment of the KLANG system reportedly lessened listening fatigue for both the performers and the sound engineers involved in the production. Installation International notes that the offline editor allowed for channel preparation prior to the live event.
Rehearsals were streamlined by the system’s quick setup process, with the entire configuration taking only a few moments to implement, as detailed by Installation International.
