LEWITT is entering the professional headphone market with the LW6 Wireless Studio Headphones, a closed-back reference design that pairs RealSound ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless technology with onboard DSP for recording, monitoring, mixing and mastering. The product is now available at $699 in the US and €599 in Europe, according to an audioXpress report.
The Vienna, Austria-based manufacturer built its reputation in studio microphones but has expanded into audio interfaces, software and virtual monitoring. The LW6 connects those developments in a first headphone platform, audioXpress reported. The proprietary RealSound system uses UWB radio rather than Bluetooth for the professional audio link, carrying uncompressed audio with specified end-to-end latency below 6ms over an operating range of approximately 5 meters.
The included LW TX transmitter connects to a conventional headphone output or directly to a computer over USB-C. A separate 2.4GHz Bluetooth radio remains available for everyday listening, while the headphones also operate through a 3.5mm analog input or USB-C. Onboard DSP provides a five-band parametric EQ, mono and side-stereo monitoring, channel swapping, three target listening levels and a Loudness Guard threshold, with profiles stored locally in the headphones.
The LW6 also includes a virtual studio monitor mode that recreates loudspeaker presentation in an optimized mixing room, extending LEWITT’s Space Replicator technology into the playback device itself. Battery operation is specified at up to 21 hours, with a 15-minute charge providing approximately three additional hours.
