Manifest Audio has introduced Sonification Tools v3, a collection of plugins designed to translate numerical data into musical parameters, according to Attack Magazine. The software suite is priced at $199, with a promotional launch price of $169 available until November 1, 2026.
The tools allow users to convert datasets, such as rainfall measurements or financial information, into musical elements. Data selection is managed through a hierarchical system that progresses from type to source and then to series, incorporating providers like NASA and Wikipedia. Users can also import data from local files, including spreadsheets and audio recordings, or utilize built-in mathematical algorithms.
Sonification Tools v3 includes three distinct plugins: Data Synth, a 16-voice instrument with MPE support; Data FX, for data-driven audio effects; and Data Path, a MIDI effect processor. Each plugin offers extensive modulation options and automation capabilities.
Data Synth oscillators interpret data as waveforms or harmonic spectra, while Data FX uses it to shape effects like convolution reverb and spectral filters. Data Path transforms data into MIDI sequences, controlling aspects like pitch and rhythm.
