Belgian manufacturer Morphor has made its unusual Echon 6 analog polysynth available for order through major retailer Thomann. According to a report by Gearnews, the six-voice instrument utilizes bucket-brigade device resonators to generate sound, distinguishing it from traditional synthesizers. The Echon 6 features a fully analog audio signal path controlled digitally, utilizing a complex exciter section feeding into a long delay line with feedback. The engine combines noise, a variable waveshape oscillator, and external inputs using a crossfader before passing through input and feedback filters. The product supports MPE, polyphonic aftertouch, and offers individual outputs for all voices when operating in multitimbral mode.
