Native Instruments has issued a series of free and paid updates for its Maschine+ standalone hardware that bring the unit in line with the latest Maschine 3 software features, according to gearnews.
The reports detail several update versions. A firmware refresh identified as version 2.3.0 adds per-note probability, Euclidean and random note generation modes, a new variation page in the Groove section for adjusting velocity, timing and note length, and dedicated hardware controls for those features. That update also includes Hardware Connection Service 2.1.6 for improved stability when pairing a Kontrol S-Series MK3 with Maschine+.
A separate version 3.3.1 update delivers full Maschine 3 engine support to the standalone unit, gearnews reports. Key additions include a Bounce-in-Place function for rendering CPU-heavy plugins such as Monark to audio, Kontakt 8 integration, an upgraded internal bass synthesizer with a second oscillator and glide tool, Custom Chords creation, per-section tempo assignment, and expanded file format support covering MP3, MP4, FLAC and OGG. Projects can also be exported directly as MP3 files.
The manufacturer confirmed stem separation will arrive later. A required software upgrade for version 3.3.1 starts at €29, with a complete package at €69. Retailers including Sweetwater carry the Maschine+ hardware.
