Neumann has announced the KK 104 A and KK 105 A, two new premium condenser capsule heads designed for Sennheiser wireless systems. Sound on Sound reported that the A-Series capsules build on the KK 204 and KK 205, combining Neumann condenser technology with reduced handling noise. The capsules are designed for Sennheiser Spectera, EW-D, EW-DX, and Digital 6000/9000 handheld transmitters.
The two models share the same condenser technology but offer different pickup patterns. The KK 104 A features a cardioid polar pattern that combines feedback resistance with greater freedom of movement. Neumann say its slightly more open pickup characteristic creates a natural, spacious sound. The KK 105 A uses a supercardioid pattern that provides maximum isolation and control, focusing tightly on the source and rejecting off-axis sound effectively.
Both capsule heads offer handling-noise rejection, SPL capability and gain before feedback. They include a fixed low-cut filter that helps control the proximity effect when used up close. A hardened steel grille with an integrated pop screen protects the capsule from moisture and helps reduce plosives and sibilance. The capsules are available in nickel and black finishes.
The KK 104 A and KK 105 A will be available in late September 2026, with pricing yet to be confirmed.
