A new crop of studio headphones from sE Electronics, Sennheiser, LEWITT, Steven Slate Audio and Audeze is expanding options for tracking, mixing and wireless monitoring, according to a Gearnews roundup of 2026 releases.
The report highlights sE Electronics’ first headphone, the KLS 150, a closed-back design with passive mechanical bass controls that boost or cut low-end by 5 dB. Sennheiser’s HD 480 PRO offers a closed-back alternative to its HD 490 PRO, with a 130-ohm impedance suited to dedicated headphone amps.
LEWITT’s LW6 wireless headphones deliver low-latency, uncompressed 24-bit 48 kHz audio via a USB-C transmitter, with DSP, a 5-band EQ and Space Replicator Essential software included. Steven Slate Audio’s VSX Immersion One pairs planar magnetic drivers with the VSX Platinum room-modeling suite, while Audeze’s MM-520 updates its Manny Marroquin series with SLAM components for enhanced sub-bass.
For retailers, the range spans entry-level closed-back monitoring to premium planar magnetic designs, with wireless and software-bundled models creating cross-sell opportunities across interfaces, headphone amps and modeling ecosystems.
