ReelWorks Denver, a new concert venue in Colorado, has become the second location in the Americas to utilize L-Acoustics’ DJ spatial audio technology. Brown Note Productions handled the installation of the L-Acoustics DJ system alongside an L Series sound reinforcement system for the facility.
According to Front of House Magazine, Brown Note Productions has experience with this technology, having previously deployed L-Acoustics DJ at The Breakbeat in Chico, California. The company designed the system using L-Acoustics Soundvision software to optimize audio coverage.
The 2,000-capacity venue, which was formerly a metal film reel manufacturing factory, was reimagined as a concert space following the pandemic. The space already incorporated 360-degree projection-mapped walls and intelligent lighting, enhancing the immersive experience. The audio system consists of three L2D arrays complemented by A15i surround speakers and KS28 subwoofers, with a total of eight KS28 subwoofers included.
L-Acoustics DJ allows for the dynamic movement of audio within the venue, transforming traditional stereo mixes into a spatial audio experience. The venue's design also includes pre-wired space to accommodate additional L-Acoustics enclosures in the future.
