RESONIKS, an acoustic testing startup based in The Hague, has introduced the MPK801, a digital measurement microphone with a stated 20Hz–80kHz frequency range, Ethernet connectivity, and onboard calibration, audioXpress reported. Priced at €1,170 per unit, the device targets industrial acoustic analysis and machine-learning applications, with relevance for researchers working across audible and ultrasonic frequencies.
The MPK801 combines a measurement microphone, digitization, calibration data, and network interface in a single IP54-rated housing designed for mounting on a machine frame or robot arm. A single screw-lock M12 cable links the unit to a standard Ethernet network, removing the need for a separate preamplifier and external converter. RESONIKS specifies unit-to-unit calibration matching within ±0.5dB, with calibration data stored on each microphone, enabling hot swapping without recalibration or retraining associated machine-learning models.
For multichannel acquisition, the optional ARK141 Sensor Hub synchronizes up to 14 microphones with timing alignment specified within 100ns. The company says applications include monitoring cutting-tool and drill-bit wear, locating gas and compressed-air leaks, and detecting cracks as welded or additively manufactured parts cool. The MPK801 is available through the company’s online shop for European shipments, with customers outside Europe invited to request individual quotations.
