S.I.T. Strings has announced updates to its Power Wound Nickel Electric Guitar Strings, incorporating changes to packaging and string protection. According to Premier Guitar, the redesign encompasses the entire Power Wound product family.
The company is now utilizing a premium black carton and a sealed Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) bag to safeguard strings during storage and transit. S.I.T. Strings initially launched its products in 1980, and the revised packaging aims to enhance the product’s longevity.
The strings continue to be manufactured in Akron, Ohio, leveraging American materials and the company’s patented Stay-In-Tune™ process. This process reinforces the ball-end twist to provide reliable tuning stability, a hallmark of the Power Wound series. The strings feature a hex-shaped core and nickel-plated steel wrap wire, intended to produce a balanced sound with clear highs and tight lows.
The updated Power Wound line is available in various gauges and custom sets, catering to a broad range of musical genres including rock, metal, blues, jazz, and country.
