Shure has opened a new office inside the newly constructed Rock Nashville production campus to mark 25 years of maintaining a physical presence in the city. According to Installation magazine, this expansion places the manufacturer within what is described as the world’s largest purpose-built music campus, which features 13 rehearsal studios and two arena rehearsal studios. The move extends a relationship with the city’s music community that spans more than half a century, situated within a massive 600,000 square foot site dedicated to music production.
Installation reports that local performers, audio professionals, and civic leaders gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the milestone. During the event, Shure presented a cheque to ECCHO Live, a local organization providing mental health services and financial coaching to touring industry professionals. This gesture continues a long tradition of backing independent venues and assisting artists impacted by the 2010 floods, further cementing the company’s role in the area.
The source states that Shure supplied equipment to the Ryman Auditorium before the Grand Ole Opry House was constructed in 1974. Chris Schyvinck, president and CEO at Shure, told Installation that Nashville remains a vital part of the company’s history. Additionally, retired Opry Entertainment Group director Chuck Young noted to the outlet that gear reliability is essential for the venue’s hundreds of annual performances and rapid set changes required by the long-running radio show.
