Shure has released the MV6 Gen 2, a USB gaming microphone priced at $169, targeting first-time dedicated mic buyers who want better sound than a headset, according to Monthly Mixing.
The dynamic microphone is inspired by the SM7 and MV7 family and was shaped by feedback from gamers, streamers and creators, Monthly Mixing reported. Audio processing is built into the hardware, including a Digital Popper Stopper, a real-time denoiser and Auto Level mode, with noise reduction and automatic volume adjustment offering more detailed user control.
Settings can be adjusted through the free MOTIV app, which also provides EQ settings and presets for speech, singing and instruments, according to the source. The design carries over from the original MV6, with a new white color option that includes a space gray flocked windscreen and color-matched accessories.
A desktop stand that reduces vibration and shock transfer is included, and the 5/8-inch thread allows connection to a standard boom arm, Monthly Mixing reported. The bundled USB-C cable has been lengthened to 2m for more flexible positioning. The MV6 Gen 2 connects to PC, Mac, Android and iOS devices with a single USB-C cable, and more information is available on the Shure website.
