Shure has released a v1.6 firmware update for its Axient Digital Wireless System, adding Channel Linking and Preferred Access Point features designed to simplify wireless deployment across large-scale production environments covering sizable distances, according to Mixonline.
The Niles, Illinois manufacturer said Channel Linking lets users link receiver channels across compatible Axient Digital receivers, including AD4Q, AD4D, ADX5D and the ANX4 scalable receiver in Axient Digital mode. Secondary channels automatically inherit key settings from primary channels, including frequency, transmitter registration, encryption information and channel naming, streamlining deployment and maintenance across distributed and redundant receiver networks.
Preferred Access Point gives users more control over ShowLink operation in complex wireless environments. In systems with multiple AD610 access points, users can direct supported Axient Digital transmitters to a preferred access point, making ShowLink control more predictable for large venues, distributed antenna deployments and productions needing greater control over wireless behavior.
The firmware is available now through the Shure Update Utility desktop application, Mixonline reported.
