Sound Particles has introduced revised versions of its Energy Panner 2 and Brightness Panner 2 plugins, according to the company. These tools offer distinctive methods for spatial audio manipulation, with the latest iterations including several enhancements.

Energy Panner 2 governs movement based on audio intensity, while Brightness Panner 2 reacts to frequency content, pitch, or incoming MIDI notes. The new versions provide individual signal pathways for each input channel, alongside a built-in mixer for per-channel output level adjustments. A feature that eliminates the center-channel signal and redistributes it is also incorporated.

Users can now visualize the panning effects using three new modes: Circular, Polygon, and Room. The plugins allow for the creation of custom speaker layouts, offering flexibility in channel count. Support for audio formats extends from stereo to sixth-order Ambisonics, and both plugins share an underlying engine with Beat Panner.

Energy Panner 2 and Brightness Panner 2 are available immediately, and Sound Particles is providing 30-day trial periods for potential users. The dynamic panning approach has previously been utilized by Alan Meyerson in film scoring projects.
