Suno is rolling out its v6 suite of AI music models on September 9, 2026, in a global launch that marks a significant shift in its approach to licensed partnerships. The company says the new models were developed with industry partners including Warner Music Group, BMG, and Believe.

This launch follows months of legal pressure and a commitment to audio watermarking and fingerprinting technology. Suno has capped the number of songs subscribers can download each month and settled Warner Music Group’s copyright lawsuit from November 2025.

Suno’s previous models will be retired on the same day, according to Chief Product Officer Jack Brody. The company claims the data used to train the new models does not include data from Universal Music Group or Sony Music Entertainment.
