SynthSkool has launched Degauss, a new software instrument intended to emulate the sound of classic synthesizers. According to SynthSkool, the instrument functions as a VST3/AU sampler, providing users with a digital representation of vintage hardware.
The company reports that Degauss grants access to sounds originating from thirty distinct vintage synthesizers. This digital offering aims to replicate the sonic characteristics of these instruments without requiring users to own the original hardware. Synthtopia notes that the instrument includes over 500 samples and more than 500 presets.
One distinguishing characteristic of Degauss is its 3D waveform visualization. The instrument presents audio as a true stereo pair, with the left channel depicted in red and the right in green. Degauss is currently available for purchase at a price of $99 USD.
