Software developer Voidscan has announced the release of Parasite, a new experimental FM synthesizer plugin. According to Synthtopia, the instrument utilizes a three-operator system to generate sound, alongside features designed to significantly modify the audio output.
Parasite’s design incorporates six distinct algorithms for its FM synthesis engine and implements processing intended to distort and change the resultant sonic texture. The plugin offers considerable flexibility with three user-definable low-frequency oscillators, each capable of producing eight different waveforms and routing to 64 modulation destinations.
Beyond core synthesis capabilities, Parasite includes a range of tools for sound design and experimentation. These features encompass per-voice effects, a 32-step gate sequencer, patch randomization, and mutation tools, as well as a preset system containing 153 pre-configured sounds.
