Your Smile is Art has released Bubblegum, a free pitch-editing plugin that lets producers adjust pitch, timing and duration of individual notes within recorded audio, including notes within chords. According to MusicTech, the plugin is available for Windows and macOS in VST3 and AU formats, with a Linux version in beta.

MusicTech reports that Bubblegum analyzes recorded audio and displays detected notes as shapes on a piano-roll interface. Users can move notes to different pitches, reposition them in time or change their duration. The plugin offers polyphonic editing, global Pitch and Formant controls, a quantize function and six editing modes covering Main, Vibrato, Drift, Slide, Volume and Formant.

The plugin was created by electronic music producer M Fusina, who publishes under the Your Smile is Art name, MusicTech reports. The project began after the developer experienced problems with Melodyne and built a simpler alternative.

MusicTech notes that Bubblegum arrives as pitch-correction tools become more accessible, with AutoTune Go now available in FL Studio including to free-tier FL Cloud users. Bubblegum is available as a free download from the Your Smile is Art website with optional donations. While it lacks the full feature set of established commercial pitch-editing software, MusicTech reports its polyphonic note manipulation and editing control make it a useful option for producers seeking to experiment without purchasing paid tools.
