Ernie Ball Music Man has introduced two new Albert Lee guitar models, the Albert Lee HSS and the limited-edition Ball Family Reserve Albert Lee in Malibu Burst, according to Australian Musician.
The Albert Lee HSS pairs the signature body shape with a DiMarzio custom humbucker originally developed for the Music Man Axis alongside Albert Lee signature Seymour Duncan custom single-coil pickups. A Silent Circuit preamp reduces single-coil hum, and a 5-way selector with master volume and tone controls handles tonal range. The ash body comes in a high-gloss finish with a roasted figured maple neck, 22 stainless steel frets on a 25-1/2-inch scale, Music Man vintage tremolo, compensated nut and Schaller M6-IND locking tuners. Three finishes are offered: Firemist Silver, Honey Burst and Cosmos Sparkle.
The Ball Family Reserve Albert Lee in Malibu Burst is limited to 75 instruments worldwide, Australian Musician reports. It features a figured maple top over an okoume body, roasted figured maple neck and fretboard, white pearl Atlante block inlays, custom-wound DiMarzio humbuckers, a 5-way selector with 500k volume and tone controls, Music Man vintage tremolo, locking Schaller tuners and 22 stainless steel frets on a 10-inch radius.
