A handcrafted Olympus Custom “Purple Swan” guitar valued at $7,000 will be raffled at the Captured Live event on December 2 at Empire Music Studios in Heidelberg West, Victoria, according to Australian Musician. The event celebrates the photography of Jason Rosewarne and three decades of the publication, with only a handful of tickets remaining.
The guitar, donated by Johnny Prapas, features a two-piece swamp ash hollow body, American flame maple set neck, pale moon ebony fingerboard, Nick Silver Swan Model pickups, a Paradox high-end aluminium alloy bridge, locking tuners and a purple gloss finish. A maximum of 300 raffle tickets will be offered, with all proceeds going to NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia. Additional prizes include framed Rosewarne prints.
Australian Musician reported that Marcel Yammouni, Richard Tankard and Andy Fry have joined the performer lineup alongside Geoff Achison, Kathleen Halloran, Jimi Hocking, Shannon Bourne, Lloyd Spiegel, John McNamara, Andrea Marr and Joshua Batten. Trevor Carter, Empire’s main engineer, will record the performances for a planned live album release, with further funds directed to the cancer charity.
Photo pre-sales from Rosewarne’s exhibition gallery are open until November 25, with all proceeds also benefiting NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia. The event is supported by Empire Music Studios, the Australian Music Association, presenters of the Melbourne Guitar Show, Diamond Valley Mitre 10 and DRW Entertainment.
