PRS Guitars has introduced black paisley limited editions across its Archon and Archon Classic amplifier and cabinet lines, with worldwide production runs ranging from 75 to 200 units depending on the model, mia.org.uk reported.

The Archon is a two-channel amp powered by two 6L6 tubes with five gain stages before the master volume. Its lead channel covers classic rock through metal tones with full distortion, while the clean channel maintains clarity at high volume and serves as a pedal platform. The Archon Classic uses an alternatively voiced circuit, with the lead channel targeting 1970s and 1980s rock tones and a hotter clean channel capable of reaching breakup. Its refined gain structure offers wider midrange gain flavors compared with the original Archon.

Archon speaker cabinets use a closed-back design for punch and tight low end and feature Celestion V-Type speakers, selected to maintain balanced tone across clean, crunch and high-gain settings. Paul Reed Smith, PRS Guitars managing general partner, said the original brown paisley covering was attractive and the all-black version has been admired for its striking appearance and durability.
