Pro audio marketing and strategy consultancy Sociatech has named Fabrica Post and Orogenic Audio as the first recipients of its Sociatech Scholarship Award, Prosoundweb reported. The consultancy received more applications than expected and selected two recipients, one focused on post production and one on music.

Over the next year, Sociatech will work with both companies on positioning, brand strategy, launch creative and industry relations, with both new products expected to reach the market in 2027. The scholarship provides selected startup audio companies with a year of Sociatech’s strategic and creative services, while recipients remain responsible for their own media spends.

Fabrica Post, led by re-recording mixer and sound designer Rob Walker, is developing software tools for audio post professionals designed to provide a fast workflow while retaining deeper controls. Walker brings more than 25 years of experience in film and TV sound and chaired the Association of Motion Picture Sound from 2018 to 2021.

Orogenic Audio, an independent music software company, has spent the past year developing tools for musicians and alternative production workflows. Drew Vernon brings more than 15 years of experience in music technology including roles at FXpansion, ROLI and inMusic Brands. Sociatech founder Russ Hughes said both winners showed they are brands to watch.
