Yamaha has refreshed its CK stage piano series with a new 76-key model and a free operating system update, gearnews reported. The CK76 slots between the existing CK61 and weighted-key CK88, sharing the same piano, organ, and synth sounds as well as built-in speakers.
The gearnews report states that OS 2.0 adds three new electric piano sounds—74 Rd Studio, 67 Rd Bright/Dark, and Wr Wide—along with eight Live Sets designed to showcase the new pianos. The update also introduces an Advanced Split Mode that lets users assign a single part to multiple note ranges. Owners of the CK61 and CK88 can download the update from Yamaha’s website at no cost.
The CK series draws on organ and synth sounds from Yamaha’s YC Stage Keyboard and pianos from the CP Stage Piano line, offering 363 tones, 128-note polyphony, and three-part layering with Live Sets for instant recall. Both the CK61 and CK88 are battery-powered with built-in speakers and can function as audio and MIDI interfaces.
Gearnews notes that the CK76 and other CK models are available through retail partners including Thomann and Sweetwater.
