Alfatron Electronics has released the ALF-3GSDI-HD, a newly developed device that converts SDI signals to HDMI. According to Tiaan Hoogstad, marketing director at Alfatron Electronics, the converter provides a flexible solution for signal transformations frequently needed in modern environments.
The ALF-3GSDI-HD is designed to allow connections to displays and projectors without introducing any delays or signal degradation. It is intended for use in professional broadcast, audio-visual, and video production settings. The converter supports data rates up to 2.970 Gbit/s and image resolutions including 720p, 1080i, and 1080p.
The device adheres to several industry standards, specifically SMPTE 425M, 424M, 292M, and 259M-C. Its small size makes it suitable for various locations, including broadcast racks, live event setups, control rooms, and portable production environments. The converter also incorporates an SDI loop output, allowing for signal extension or distribution.
