d&b audiotechnik has installed a new sound system at Sibelius Hall in Lahti, Finland, according to Installation International. The venue, which opened in 2000, hosts hundreds of events annually, including classical music performances and amplified productions.
The upgrade was implemented to resolve issues with the prior system's ability to consistently reproduce sound across diverse programming, noted Technical Producer Jukka-Pekka Nissinen. Eventum Lahti Oy highlighted a need for greater adaptability when combining genres like pop and rock music with orchestral arrangements.
The new system incorporates XSL8 loudspeakers and XSL-SUBs for the primary left and right arrays, complemented by SL-SUBs positioned at the stage’s front. U3 point sources, alongside Y7P and Y10P loudspeakers, provide front-fill, balcony delays, and additional sound reinforcement. Oulun Kongressitekniikka Oy handled the installation.
