Fender has launched the Tone Master ’59 Twin-Amp JB Edition, the first signature model in its digital modeling amp line, endorsed by blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa. According to Guitar.com, the amp digitally recreates Fender’s 5F8-A tweed Twin circuit and is voiced after Bonamassa’s own late-1950s amplifiers.

The product features a pair of custom-designed lightweight 12-inch Celestion JB Neodymium speakers, a Stage-to-Home power control with six settings, convolution spring reverb, an effects loop and a Vintage Tight switch for enhanced low-end response. Connectivity includes a balanced XLR line output with three onboard cabinet impulse responses and customizable speaker IRs via the Tone Master IR Manager app.

Fender Electronics and Digital chief product officer Max Gutnik told Guitar.com that Bonamassa choosing a digital Fender over a vintage tube amp represents an inflection point for the industry, demonstrating the accuracy with which Fender can recreate its iconic amplifiers. Bonamassa acknowledged to Guitar.com that he reversed his stance on digital gear after beta testing the amp, finding it tighter, punchier and better than the original.

Guitar.com reports the Tone Master ’59 Twin-Amp JB Edition is available now, priced at $1,999.99 in the U.S., with international pricing at 1,789 British pounds and 2,099 euros.
