Roland Corporation has initiated a global anniversary campaign titled “Then. Now. Next.” to commemorate the tenth year since its landmark 2016 livestream event, The Future. Redefined. According to Music Instrument News, the manufacturer plans to unveil more than a dozen new products across piano, drum, guitar, synthesizer, and professional A/V categories throughout September and October. This strategic rollout aims to connect the legacy of past innovations with future-focused initiatives spanning both Roland and BOSS brands.
The original 2016 event introduced industry-defining technologies such as the Aerophone digital wind instrument and the BOSS Katana amplifier series, which continue to drive significant sales growth for the company in the first half of 2026. As part of the current campaign, Roland will introduce the FP-40 digital piano featuring Piano Sphere, a connected learning system developed in collaboration with Skoove. Masahiro Minowa, CEO of Roland Corporation, stated that the upcoming releases represent a preview of the connected experiences the company intends to deliver over the next decade.
This product expansion aligns with Roland’s FY2026-FY2028 Mid-Term Management Plan, which emphasizes customer experience and the growth of the Roland Cloud ecosystem. The manufacturer also indicated it is exploring additional retail initiatives and new opportunities for creative expression through the Roland Future Design Lab. These efforts underscore the company’s commitment to integrating hardware with digital services to support music communities globally.
