The inaugural Florida Drum Fest brought drummers, percussion educators, manufacturers and collectors to the Lake County Fairgrounds Expo Hall in Eustis, Florida, on Sept. 20, 2026.
The all-ages event featured major manufacturers, boutique builders, vintage collectors and specialty brands. Attendees could try instruments and accessories, speak with exhibitors and shop for new and vintage equipment. The show also included a consignment area.
Two educational clinics addressed different aspects of drumming. Derek Roddy presented a session drawing on his experience as an extreme-metal drummer and educator. Percussionist and educator Greg Hersey presented “Finding Your Artistic Imprint,” a clinic focused on creativity, musical identity and developing an individual approach to performance.
“Florida Drum Fest was created to bring the entire drum community together under one roof,” event organizer John Spinelli said. “From the world’s biggest drum companies to small independent builders, educators, collectors and everyday players, everyone has a place at Florida Drum Fest.”
Participating exhibitors and supporters included Gretsch Drums, DDrum USA, Zildjian, Vic Firth, Paiste, the Percussive Arts Society, Humes & Berg and independent drum builders and accessory makers.
Organizers said the first event established a platform for manufacturers, independent builders and the wider percussion community to connect directly with players. They plan to build on the inaugural show and develop it into an annual gathering for drummers throughout Florida and beyond.
