Music China outlined plans for its 2026 trade fair in a Sept. 30 announcement, highlighting stringed instruments, Chinese instruments, professional audio and music technology. The organizer expected more than 1,600 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions for the Oct. 28-31 event at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
New additions to the strings program included instrument care and repair consultations, a Stringed Masters’ Salon and sound evaluation sessions. They joined the existing violin-making workshop.
The announcement also introduced Into the Music Tech Groove, a program for products and solutions involving technical development, new user experiences and emerging applications. Selected startups were to demonstrate their work and connect with potential investors.
The returning Tomorrow’s Music area in Hall N2 was set to include audio production, electronic instruments and software. The announcement named Apogee, Avid and ICON among participants in that area.
The organizer described a fringe program of more than 500 sessions across four days, including industry forums, workshops and live performances.
