Ovation has introduced the 1868 Pro Series Elite Gus G. Signature acoustic-electric guitar. Developed with the Greek guitarist known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne and Firewind, the model combines Ovation’s acoustic design with features intended for rock and metal players.
The guitar uses a Super Shallow Bowl body designed to provide a close playing position. A slim neck profile is intended to feel familiar to electric guitar players, supporting a transition between electric and acoustic instruments.
The model incorporates Ovation’s under-saddle piezoceramic pickup technology and an OP-Pro preamp. The pickup and preamp system is designed for integration into live rigs, whether connected to a traditional instrument cable or a wireless system.
The company said the instrument was developed to support a range of playing approaches, from acoustic introductions to more melodic leads. The signature model joins Ovation’s 1868 Pro Series Elite line.
