Sweetwater announced two Nashville-area stops for its Airstream mobile recording studio in an Oct. 21 release. The itinerary included Middle Tennessee State University on Oct. 27 and the AES Nashville event on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

The university program was scheduled to include a session on designing Dolby Atmos recording and mixing environments, led by Mark Hornsby and Russ Berger of Russ Berger Design Group. A second session focused on careers in the audio industry, with participation from Sweetwater’s recruiting team.

The AES appearance was designed to give engineers an opportunity to tour the compact studio and take part in workshops on immersive and spatial audio workflows.

Built on a 25-foot Airstream chassis, the studio was designed by Russ Berger Design Group. The release describes a 7.1.4 monitoring environment with PMC loudspeakers, an SSL System Tconsole, Dante routing and Avid MTRX II and Pro Tools HDX equipment. An acoustically treated area supports podcasting and streaming work.
