JBL has introduced its 3 Series MKIII line of powered studio monitors, comprising three driver sizes and a companion subwoofer, according to MusicTech. The range includes the 305P MkIII, 306P MkIII and 308P MkIII, spanning 5-inch to 8-inch drivers, plus the 310S MKIII powered subwoofer with a 10-inch driver.
MusicTech reports these are the first JBL monitors to use Class D amplification, delivering higher output volume, additional headroom and reduced functional noise. The monitors feature balanced Neutrik inputs and adjustable input levels for compatibility with entry-level gear and professional mixing consoles. Built-in mounting options support configurations from 2.1 to spatial setups.
The monitors offer four one-touch room controls providing 81 corrective EQ combinations for wall distance and high and low frequency adjustment without external software, MusicTech notes. Rebuilt tweeters implement JBL’s Image Control Waveguide, while woofers use more rigid cone materials, upgraded magnet assemblies and aluminium shorting rings for greater power with less distortion.
According to MusicTech, the monitors are available now in Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with North American availability set for January 7, 2027.
