Akai Professional has launched the MPK Mini Plus II, a compact 37-key MIDI keyboard controller now available through authorized dealers and select music retailers worldwide at $169 USD, according to a product announcement reported by Synthtopia.

The controller pairs an upgraded 37-key mini keybed with eight velocity- and pressure-sensitive RGB MPC pads, a full-color display, pitch and modulation wheels, eight assignable 360-degree knobs, a push encoder, and transport controls. New creative tools include Glitch, Mutate, Strum, Freeze, Chords, and Follow, alongside expanded arpeggiator, chord creator, and note repeat modes.

Direct integration with MPC Standalone and MPC Desktop extends hands-on control over transport, pads, Q-Links, mixer functions, clip launching, plugin presets, and track navigation. Dedicated DAW mappings cover MPC 3, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Cubase, FL Studio, and Native Instruments’ Komplete Kontrol ecosystem via NKS compatibility.

Connectivity includes USB-C, a full-size five-pin MIDI output, three CV/Gate outputs for modular and synthesizer control, and a 1/4-inch sustain pedal input. The bundled software package features the Studio Instrument Collection with more than 1,000 sounds from AIR Music Technology, Moog Music, and Akai Professional, plus Native Instruments Komplete Select (Akai Edition) and MPC Beats.
