Boss has launched the Katana-25, a 25-watt combo amplifier priced at $199.99 and available now through authorized Boss retailers, according to Guitar.com.

The amp joins the Katana range that Boss introduced in 2016 for guitar and bass. It pairs a custom eight-inch speaker with an open-back cabinet and a reactive analog power section built on Boss’s Tube Logic design approach, which the company says aims to capture the feel and response of a tube amp.

Players get six amp characters covering pop, blues, country, classic rock and high-gain metal, plus one voiced for acoustic-electric instruments. The amp includes more than 60 effects from the Boss library, with up to five usable simultaneously, along with 20 factory presets and 10 empty slots for custom tones.

A Power Control switch toggles between full power and a half-watt mode for cranked-amp feel at bedroom volumes. Onboard Bluetooth enables audio streaming from mobile devices and connects the amp to the Boss Tone Studio app, which offers detailed effects editing and access to Boss Tone Exchange downloads. The amp also includes a tap tempo button and a built-in tuner.
