Designed to help musicians, producers and creators work more efficiently, this update introduces expanded mixing capabilities, greater creative flexibility and streamlined workflows to shape, refine and create music.
8.2 Key Features include:
Trim Automation — Creators can add a channel or send volume layer to smooth automations without redrawing automation points, adding the Mixtool plug-in or VCA.
Dim Solo Mode — This new Mixer Option dims other channels by a user-defined amount while keeping muted channels muted, helping creators focus on a single track like vocals or drums without losing the context of the full mix.
Multiple Marker Tracks — Users can add additional Marker Tracks anywhere in the arrangement and set each to time or bar/beat positions, making it easy to mark video cue points that stay in place when the tempo changes.
Extended Stem Separation — Version 8.2 adds guitar and piano stem isolation, giving creators greater flexibility for replacing performances, transcribing audio to MIDI and creative sampling.
Vocal Tune Improvements — Version 8.2 adds a new Follow option that reads the key and scale without triggering automatic key changes, plus a new Low Latency mode that reduces plug-in latency to under 3 ms for near real-time tracking and monitoring.
Plug-in Replacement — Users can now replace Audio FX plug-ins on inserts and sends using a simple contextual menu command. Previously available only via drag and drop, this saves steps when swapping one plug-in for another.
Per Note Sound Variations — Songwriters and composers can assign any sound variation to an individual note, keeping the variation attached when the note is moved.
MIDI 2.0 Support — Version 8.2 adds MIDI 2.0 support for compatible controllers and instruments, capturing greater detail such as high-resolution velocity and controller data that can be viewed in the Note Editor’s velocity, aftertouch and part automation lanes. MIDI 2.0 is currently supported on macOS and Linux, with Windows support pending Microsoft’s official MIDI 2.0 release (Windows 11 25H2+).
Freeze Improvements — Mixing engineers can now freeze tracks or channels and render insert effects, with channel volume and pan preserved exactly as set.
Studio Pro 8.2 builds on the platform’s continued evolution as a comprehensive music creation tool, bringing together powerful recording, editing, production and mixing capabilities in one intuitive experience.
