Philadelphia’s Highmark Mann Center for the Performing Arts has installed a new L-Acoustics L2D system to enhance audio coverage for its outdoor Great Lawn. The venue, which seats 4,500 under the TD Pavilion roof, now ensures that the 6,000-plus audience members on the lawn receive sound comparable to the seated sections.
Evan Rogers, vice president and general manager at Highmark Mann, led the project after five years with the organization. He researched legacy systems, consulted with other venues, and selected L-Acoustics before engaging Bauder Audio Systems as the local Certified Provider.
The installation includes four L2D enclosures flying at the back of the pavilion above the lawn, with one enclosure per position. This setup supports the venue’s mission to deliver consistent audio across all seating areas, including the Connelly Terrace and the expansive outdoor space.
